In the vibrant world of contemporary art and design, few names shine as brightly as Carla Baz. With a unique blend of artistic prowess and innovative design sensibilities, Baz has captured the imagination of audiences worldwide.
Carla Baz’s artistic journey began in Beirut, Lebanon, where she was born and raised. Surrounded by the rich cultural tapestry of her homeland, Baz developed a deep appreciation for art and design from a young age. Drawing inspiration from the eclectic mix of history, architecture, and nature that permeates Lebanon, she began to hone her craft and cultivate her distinctive artistic voice.
After completing her studies in graphic design at the American University of Beirut, Baz embarked on a journey of exploration and self-discovery. She traversed continents, immersing herself in diverse cultures and experiences that would ultimately shape her artistic vision. From the bustling streets of New York City to the serene landscapes of rural Japan, Baz absorbed the beauty and complexity of the world around her, chnneling these influences into her work.

At the heart of Carla Baz’s artistic practice lies a deep reverence for storytelling and symbolism. Her creations are imbued with layers of meaning and emotion, inviting viewers to embark on a journey of discovery and introspection. Drawing upon a wide range of mediums and techniques, Baz’s work spans across painting, sculpture, installation, and beyond, blurring the boundaries between art and design.
In addition to her work as an artist, Carla Baz has also made a name for herself as a designer, collaborating with renowned brands and institutions to bring her creative vision to life. From fashion and furniture to interior design and public art installations, Baz’s designs exude a sense of elegance, sophistication, and timelessness. I especially love her Oyster Lighting Series and her Minelas Low Tables which are entirely handcrafted in solid marble with a coloured resin inlay.
